Laura Andre,
the daughter of SIYC Members, Jack and Cindy Andre, lives in
Washington, DC, but spends almost every weekend at Drum Point at
her parents' weekend house. Laura is a junior at the Academy of
the Holy Cross in Kensington, Maryland, where she is taking both
Advanced Placement and Honors classes. Her favorite classes are
Physics, Calculus, and Marine Science. With her current
workload, she doesn't have much time for extracurricular
activities, but she does spend a number of hours each month
involved in community service activities. One of her favorite
service activities is helping others learn how to use a
computer. She enjoys playing games, scrapbooking, gardening, and
swimming, and is also a fairly good sailor.
Laura has helped out on a number of activities at the
Yacht Club over the past year, and was very excited when she was
selected to be the Club's 2010 Princess.
She enjoys meeting and talking with Club members, and is
looking forward to participating in more Club activities over
the next year.
