Greetings
from Our Commodore
Welcome to the Solomons Island Yacht Club
website. The purpose of the Club is to provide and operate a
yachting-centered social organization espousing the values of
friendliness that have characterized the Solomons area for decades.
Our membership continues to take pride in its reputation as one of
the friendliest yacht clubs on Chesapeake Bay. Our members are a fun
loving group who enjoy many social activities, including, meetings,
dinners, dances and holiday parties in our beautifully maintained
clubhouse. We also participate in many boating activities and
cruises to destinations all over Chesapeake Bay. SIYC also sponsors
special community events throughout the year such as the Blessing of
the Fleet, Opening Day Ceremonies and Christmas Boat Light Parade.
The Solomons Island Yacht Club was established
in 1937, so we’re proudly celebrating our 75th year.
Located in the heart of Solomons Island at the mouth of the Patuxent
River, our clubhouse and docking facilities are within walking
distance of many fine restaurants, shops, full service marinas and
marine museum. We sincerely invite all card holding members of other
yacht clubs to visit us and enjoy our facility while in the Solomons
area.
